My favorite quotes: “Faith is the art of holding on to things in spite of your changing moods and circumstances.” – C.S. Lewis

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,”

I believe this quote sums up my journey to becoming a counselor and many of the stories that contribute to my path to getting my degree in Counseling and becoming a counselor.

My Philosophy:

It is to meet people where they are, and my approach to therapy is empathetic, and I like to utilize an integrated approach tailored to you. I select techniques and interventions adapted and modified to fit your needs.

I have worked within my local church for over and worked closely within the Care ministry and care pastor for over 12 years and have worked closely and led divorce recovery groups for over 16 years, and have understood and lived out the quote, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,” and that truly is where my heart is in working with people from all walks of life.

I have worked with people who have gone through or are going through a divorce for several years, but I also have a love of working with crisis & trauma, grief, anxiety and depression, eating disorders, singles, women, couples & relationship issues. With all this in mind, I remember how and why I am pursuing my dream to become a licensed Professional Counselor and why I now attend the Townsend Institute at Concordia University as a final-year graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

About Michelle:

I was born and raised in the Midwest but have been in the Los Angeles area since the late 90s. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at the University of Phoenix in Pasadena. I have a business mind and a love for people. I am currently in my final year pursuing my graduate degree at Concordia University, Irvine, at the Townsend Institute, in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
