Things change…life can get in the way and the next thing you know you’re repeating the same patterns again. I’m committed to helping you find yourself anew. Does this sound familiar? Despite your best intentions to do it differently and take better care of yourself, you find you are back in that same spot again — reaching for the food, restricting the food, saying yes to someone when you don’t want to, landing in a bad relationship again, wishing for more real closeness and intimacy…. However you find you get stuck, you may feel like you’ve lost control over the choices you make. You may be juggling so many things and so caught up in being who others need you to be, that you’ve lost sight of who you really are and what you really need.
Find your new path out of Eating Disorders, the pain of past traumas, or troubled relationships, and find yourself. You can develop a healthier relationship with yourself, your body, your food, and those people who are important in your life. Let me help you discover your most authentic self and the joy that comes along with that.
I have been practicing since 1993 providing treatment for individuals, couples, teens and families. I specialize in eating disorder treatment to help people recover from food and weight problems. My work also focuses on healing early childhood trauma, improving relationships with others as well as the self, and dealing with infertility and adoption issues. I’m interested in whole person and whole life wellness. I thoroughly enjoy my work and feel honored to be a part of this very significant journey in people’s lives. I believe the trust and safety of the therapeutic relationship allows for healing of very deep and personal pain and longing, and allows one to discover his or her most authentic self.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and hold my doctorate in Contemporary Psychoanalysis. I am a Training and Supervising Analyst, and a past member of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis where I received my training. In addition to providing psychotherapy, I also teach and supervise others who are therapists.
